Growing up on a rabbit farm in rural Texas, Davis Grant wondered if there was more to life than prank calling from the local phone booth. Davis found his safe haven at the cinema where he developed a taste for movies, and it wasn’t long before he started writing them. His writing philosophy is to shock the audience through his work, because nobody pays to be underwhelmed. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he volunteered with Texas Student Television, serving as a producer and director as well as a film critic. This past spring, he graduated with an M.F.A. in Screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University, where he wrote many films, and shot several shorts. He recently finished a 16mm film director’s workshop with Mono No Aware, pursuing his passion for motion picture filmmaking.
